Too legit to quit...

After I got home from the dentist this morning, I figured I should go out and run even if I didn't want to. It's a pretty good day here today weather-wise (68 degrees, comfortable humidity) but I had a lot to do so I wasn't sure if I was going to get a run in. I'm glad I did.

I just did an out and back (its a mile from my house out to the traffic light and a mile back) plus a little loop and I just decided to rn when I felt like it and walk when I felt like it. I ended up with a pretty decent 2.3 mile time.

Today's title comes from a song that came on close to the end of my run when my legs were tired and usually I skip over it. But it kept me going and reminded me that I am just as good as anyone else running there and that in many ways I am "too legit to quit" running. I think that song will permanently go onto my run mix haha.

So I'm glad I got a run in. My legs felt good...side stitches didn't bother me....I tried to run more than I walked. Next goal is to keep going longer. Right now it feels like a little over 2 miles is my limit and I need to get to 3.2 in two weeks. fun times for me....

Ok off to go get lunch with my mom and friend and then pick my dad up from the airport. YAY!!!

Endomondo specs from today:

2.32 miles
32:41 (including 3 minute warm up and 5 minute cool down walk)
avg. pace: 14:06
mile 1: 13::31
mile 2: 13:49

still looking on pace for a sub 40 5k. (45 min is my absolute limit and that is if i walk the whole thing).

  1. I think you can reach your goal pace. You are making great improvements. After the two weeks and the 5k, I would just slightly increase the distance each week.
