Muuuccchhhh Better

No lingering knee issues from my hard fall on Wednesday THANK GOD.

I tried to go out yesterday for a walk but found myself limping and the dog pulling...not a good combo. I made it a mile before I came home...wasn't even worth it to log....

I woke up this morning and the knee felt MUCH better and it didn't give me a problem at all today at work so when I got home I headed out.

For starters, I downloaded the couch to 5k app for the i-phone and it syncs the workout to your music, which I really like. I dont have to keep messing with my watch and timing and since my phone is behind me when i run, I cant look at it to see how long I have to run. It automatically tells me when to run and not run plus if it senses i am slowing down (walking) during the runs, it tries to pep talk you. Overall I really like it.

So I thought I had selected week 2 of the program but I selected week 3 on the second of what i THOUGHT was 90 seconds, I thought it was taking a long time but I kept going until it said stop (and I felt like I wanted to puke but i didnt...) turned out I had gone a full 3 minutes without stopping. WOOHOO. slower than molasses  but thats a new (for me) record of how far I have run without stopping. I kept it up and did the next 90 second run and ATTEMPTED the last 3 minute run but at that point, I was on all concrete and I think I made it 30 seconds before my legs gave out. So that is my goal for the next seven days...complete ALL of week 3 on the couch to 5k program

Overall, I feel pretty good...achy muscles from more exertion than they have felt in over a week but the knee feels fine and I am ready to roll....

time to drink some water and shower/change for date night with hubby!!!

tomorrow I plan on doing a long walk and some Wii Fit/Biggest Loser to help my leg muscles get stronger so I can eventually run that mile without stopping!!

  1. I think you are making fantastic progress so far. Even if you have bad days, remember this workout. You ran 3 minutes!! When I first started reading your log you couldnt even do 60 seconds so you have a lot to be proud of :)
